We have a mediator

When our members voted to go on strike should we not have a Tentative Agreement (TA) by Aug. 26, we asked the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) to assign a mediator to help move things forward.

Once in mediation, the impartial mediator helps the two sides in conflict define the issues, explore solutions, and reach mutual agreement. Mediation is voluntary and, in the end, the parties are in control of the agreements they make.

In this case, KEA decided that it would be helpful to bring in a mediator. The mediator has been assigned and she is working with both sides to schedule meetings.

It is our hope that mediation will allow us to move forward with the District to come to a reasonable, fair and equitable settlement.
